“Saving just one dog won’t change the world, but surely it will change the world for that one dog.”
A favorite part of my job is meeting people and their pets and hearing how they become a family. It is always so delightful to witness the special bond we have with our pets. Sadly, millions of dogs and cats are homeless and don’t know the joy of having a family to call their own. In my spare time, I volunteer my photography talent to various rescue organizations to help find homes for many of these animals. Despite all good intentions, adoption pictures are often taken when a dog is frightened, in poor lighting, or in unattractive surroundings. As a pet photographer, I can coax out a dog’s personality in front of the camera and take more compelling photographs allowing potential adopters to truly see the wonderful pets awaiting them at their local rescues and shelters.
If you are considering a new pet, or have the ability to foster, please consider adopting from a local rescue organization. There are many reputable area rescues, but here are a few of my favorites:

OLDE TOWNE DOGGE WALKE FUNDRAISER FOR VETERANS MOVING FORWARD
Another organization I am proud to work with is Veterans Moving Forward. VMF is a non-profit organization assisting veterans with service and therapy dogs at no cost to the underserved veterans community. There is a critical need for dogs in the rehabilitation of veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), as well as physical disabilities. I fully believe in VMF’s mission of using dogs for therapy and service to our nation’s veterans.
On September 29, 2013, I will be working with with Capitol Heel, Old Towne School for Dogs, VMF, and other sponsors by volunteering my services as the event photographer for the 7th Annual Olde Towne Dogge Walke. Proceeds will be donated to Veterans Moving Forward. I hope you will consider registering and joining the hundreds of people who come out for this much-anticipated event that does so much for our nation’s veterans. Feel free to sign up and walk with Team Shelley Castle Photography at the event. You can find us, sign up, or start your own team, on the Olde Towne Dogge Walke registration page.
